Note: It was not the custom for Italian women to take on their husbands last name.

Bruno's 21 year old nephew, Giuseppe - son of Bruno's brother Francesco Maria Fuscà and Caterina Fabrizio - came over with Marianna and the boys.  He was the only other passenger from Vazzano and he could read and write. It's safe to assume that Bruno wanted an adult male relative to make the trip over with them for protection.

It's no wonder the spelling of our last name is screwed up!

The Census Taker wrote Bruno as the family name!!!  Plus, note "Fusia" not "Fusca"...

Plus, they had 5 Italian Boarders all named "James"!
